Tigran Martirossian,
born Armenian, was discovered by both, the
New Opera Moscow and the Bolshoy Theater, during his vocal studies at
the Gnesin Music Institute and hired as a soloist at both theatres.
As a winner of eight international vocal competitions he quickly made
it to the major theatres in Europe and the USA. Since 1998 he has been
living as freelance artist in Austria and Germany.
Metropolitan Opera, Chicaco Lyric Opera, San Francisco Opera, Bavarian
State Opera, Vienna State Opera, Teatro Real Madrid, Opéra
Bastille Paris, La Scala, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and the Salzburg
Festival are among the leading theatres, where the basso cantante has
performed.
Roles, in which Tigran Martirossian could be heard, include Philip II,
Mephistophel/Gounod, Rodolfo, Pimen, Sulpice, Colline, Gremin,
Sparafucile, Comte des Grieux/Manon.
At the Hamburg State opera, where Tigran Martirossian has been a cast
member since 2005, he i. a. performs the central bass parts of Fiesco,
Dulcamara, Figaro, Selim/Turco, Banco and Basilio.
2009 Tigran Martirossian gave his debut as Dossifei/Khovanshchina,
Further roles in the upcoming seasons include Mephistophele,
Raimondo, Selim, Dulcamara und Colline as well as Ramfis at the Bregenz Festival,
Pagano at the St. Gallen Festival.
